Ok in the past few months I upgraded my computer big time. To celebrate I cleaned my hard drive with all of my previous Maya work. Since I originally downloaded the Maya trial. Autodesk decided they'll be a bunch little butt-faces and change the free trial from unlimited to 30-day.

It's not that huge of a deal, I just went to the page after months of going without maya. But it's really nice having the program available to have the occasional "on-a-whim" or a "work-on-once-every-other-month" projects.

It also would not be a big deal if there weren't so many digits in Maya's price tag... (2010 version retails for $4,090)

Anyways, just wanted to complain a bit about this aspect of my life. If you can't tell my anger meter on this subject hovers between mildly annoyed to frustratingly disappointed.

It may be the lack of sleep but I feel it's time to try to take pencil to paper again. Tomorrow I will buy a sketchbook at the college bookstore.

This morning I realized something. It was during class, the teacher asked us the question "Do you love the craft? Or do you love yourself in the craft?" Meaning, would you still do art even if no one watched/published/read/viewed/liked etc. or do you do what you do for the pride when people like you work/clap etc.?

I began thinking about this question, going through the various art forms that I have attempted during my time at school. I realized that over the past few years, I have grown to hate drawing.

For the past two years or so, drawing has been almost always painful. I still value the art, I just don't have passion in it anymore.

This is partly because my passion has shifted to ceramics. I will be taking pictures of several pieces I have done over the 3 years I have been in the class and uploading them. I will also eventually upload drawings that I have produced since the scanner died.

But not forcing myself to draw is a major relief to me, I wish to have your support in this and hope for a change for the better in my gallery.

Anyways, I just want you to know that I'm not dead or anything, just the drawer in me. I go off to find my camera.
